Whoa cool. If I had any knowledge of how to do squat in Wings, I would be eternally grateful. I feel like google is laughing at me.

Or,
  1. Make a tree trunk out of the monkey puzzle tree and select a texture.
  2. Make the leaves 0. You want no leaves.
  3. Make the trunk a little thicker than default.
  4. Set the branch start and end angles so that the branches are reaching up.
  5. Make the tree not so tall in the Bryce workspace.
  6. Make two spheres, one slightely above the other. Make the lower sphere slightely larger. Center them horizontally (but keep the smaller one above) and the boolean them with the larger lower sphere as the negative.
  7. Move the boolean over your tree trunk
  8. Add some metaballs to the spheres.

Depending on what kind of mushroom you want, there's all sorts you could do quite simply. Here's one made in a couple of minutes, using two spheres and 3 metaballs. Fine if you don't need to get too close. The material could do with being a bit more matte, but you get the idea :o)

same as pogmahone here, just a 10 min playing with metaballs, Bryce can do excellent fungi red metaballs are the cap green the negative part of the cap blue the trunk.

Lawsy me, vasquez - did you have to make my attempt look so pathetic? ROTFL

Ornlu ( ) posted Wed, 15 September 2004 at 12:34 PM

er here was my attempt. It wasn't very hard at all, took about 5 minutes in wings without the tut. No texturing really.. just a transparent texture on the head with blurry transitions.. It needs another render and some new textures / work. but this was a quick attempt. I'll explain it in more detail after class. Later.

or: don't use it for about a fortnight; leave it in a darkish, dampish, warmish area. The fungi will come :-)) Cheers, Diolma
