Subject: Problem with Normals With Imported Object...

I have a problem when I import a model in Poser. It is modeled in Rhino and In poser it appears invisible where the surface is reversed(due to normals I think)...One side is visible the other not, unless I render the image. How can I fix this?

I have this problem from time to time with importing OBJs from Maya. I simply go back into Maya, in your case Rhino, and reverse the normals on the offending areas.

You can also do it in UV Mapper Pro. Open the object and align facets to make the all face the same way. If that fails, then individually select the facets and reverse them.

As a side note, if all facets are inverted (I.e., the entire obj) then check the 'invert normals' box on the poser inport dialog and poser will do it for you.

thanks for the replies. The problem is both sides have to be shown,I mean in some parts one side in other parts the other side.

PoseRay can be used to flip normals and clean up edges of models. FlyerX
