Subject: Looking for 1812 period military clothing

I do believe the US didn't have a lot of actual "official" troops while Great Britain did. In some cases, such as the Battle of New Orleans, the US side consisted of whomever could be persuaded to fight the British. Andrew (Old Hickory) Jackson persuaded a rag-tag bunch of people to fight in the Battle of New Orleans. The US combatants consisted of Kentucky riflemen, "native american" indians, US citizens, etc etc. I did some digging for War of 1812 uniforms, and got a bit dizzy.
