A .LNK file is what you get when you choose the option 'create shortcut here' if you drag-and-drop something using the right mouse button in Windows. Could it be that your finger slipped?
Check the folder that's being referenced here for shortcuts (they won't show the .LNK extension in Windows Explorer, only if you open a command prompt and issue a DIR command).

Sorry, just spotted this in your post: "I checked the file(s) and no such "shortcut" exists".
That was my best shot, too. ;) It might still be worthwhile searching for shortcuts in your Poser 4 Runtime - as far as I know there shouldn't be any.
