I've been working on this for a few days now. This is the first cothing set I've created. Modeled in Wings 3D. I still have to map and texture it. Wanted to share to see what people thought. Constructive criticism is welcome.

I like it. One thing... the trim around the breasts... it looks too large if it's going to be metal. It would throw off her balance. It's make it a little smaller if metal. If cloth or leather, then it's fine. Are you going to make matching boots?

I'm not sure what material the trim around the breasts is actually. metal was my first thought, but they're actually textured sort of like ivory tusks, or some type of tusk-like bone. the breast cups extend past those pieces closer to the rib cage, you just cant tell from that angle. But its good that you pointed that out about her balance. 8-) and yes I'm going to make boots too, as soon as I can figure out how to model the soles and heals correctly. I'm going to be making some more pieces that vary in style, so the suit can be mix-matched, so that will include a couple different styles of boots. And I want to add a thin vale of cloth to wrap around the belt on her waist, just haven't figured that part out either. This suit is "inspired" by a character from the 80's. I'm wondering if anyone here can recognize it before I say it, so that gives me an idea of how close I came. 8-)

Looks good so far (Big MOTU fan) Feedback: Breast detail way too think. Web search "teela figure" , and use the action figure for reference. On her bottoms, I'd prefer to see more of a lower front "v" cut in the front and back, instead of the straight across bikini style. Also, it looks like her bracers ride a little too high up on her forearms, and should extend a little closer to her hands.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

Lotta places to plunge a sword. Sexy? Oh yeah. Protective and practical?...ah, yer right, that's not the point. :^) Good work. p.s. you should include a tube of some kind of lotion. For the chafing. ;^o

Garee: thanks for the input 8-) Actually I did download a picture of the new Teela action figure. The trim and collar was the hardest part to model, I couldn't quite get it to curve the way I wanted, and it probably is a bit thicker than it should be. I added the two rings to give a variation of the original suit and mine. I was trying to find screen shots of the actual cartoon (old 80's version and the new one on cartoon network), but failed to do so. But, the body of her suit is originally one piece, from hips to shoulders, with the gold trim around her shoulders, neck and breasts. I wanted to do a more mature version, a little skimpier cause poser people love skimpy, but make her more of a respectable warrioress type as well. (she was captain of the guard after all). Even with a one-piece suit, it still doesn't give much protection. I pushed the bracers/gauntlets up a bit to give room for wrist movement. They might be a little too high though. I could slide them back down a bit. They're about the same size as they are on the action figure. I just did another bottom piece, with much more of a V in front and back, and it covers even less now.

This is the picture I used as reference. Loose reference at that. Some MOTU trivia: the action figures were around for a few years before the cartoon. They started releasing them in the late 70's and by the time the cartoon came out, the story had changed. Teela was more of a warior than she is known for. You never saw her without the cobra head dress, and she was a sort of guardian of greyskull. He-man was more of a barbarian that lived alone in the wilderness, and there was no prince adam, cringer or sorceress. My speculation is that the creators of the cartoon created the toned down version of teela, and the sorceress, from the same character out of the original comic books, which seemed to have a more mature story line. I wish they'd stuck a bit closer to the original storyline. Does anyone remember the futuristic he-man that they tried inventing in the early 90's? I don't think it lasted very long but there was a cartoon and series of action figures for it as well.
