A clean Poser install with sr4 should not do that. Do you have other programs that behave strange? You might have contracted spyware or a virus. Did Poser behave normal under the previous service release? I also have heard of problems with WinXP SP2. Never ran into those problems myself (I have 3 boxes on XP SP2) but there are too many problem reports to ignore. Then again, more programs should suffer, not only Poser.
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
