Can't say i've ever used the resize wizard or the wizard at all for that matter but I assume using the wizard sucks more resources out of your machine than a normal Image > Image Size. How much Ram do you have and how much are you allowing Photoshop to use?

I've been too chicken to upgrade myself. Hearing about too many people wanting to undo their XPSP2.
