By the pricking of my thumbs, something spooky this way comes. Dancing white thing is a friendly ghost trying to stir the creative spirit.

Hi, Im writing and fighting to stay below the 15.000 character limit. I need a few more days for trimming and polishing.

That limit can be a challenge. John Sinor was a a favorite columnist in San Diego (this was many years ago) and someone asked him how he wrote his column every day to a specific word length. He said (this is from my dim memory and not an exact quote), "I just write until I have enough words and then I stop." Oh, that it were that easy!!! P.S. :D I figured you did, but every time I look at it, I think of the Staypuff Marshmellow man from "Ghost Busters." My mind works that way. ;)

I thought it was a dancing "booger" - giggle - quickly runs and hides from dialyn.

Hey everyone, while you are in the want to write mode [or mood].

Don't forget about The RIM writer's contest - some excellent prizes and this month's theme: Chivlary is going to be just tooOOoo much fun!

I think I'm still out here. Been very quiet as if late. I think I'm in a funk. But I did manage to put together a story for the challenge this time. jon

Excellent to hear, jon! You've always been a favorite of mine. How's the novel going? You going to let us put a preview chapter in The RIM Reading Room? (I happen to know you have a subscription even though you never visit us).

Oh, jeeze. Now I really feel guilty! The novel has gone nowhere, despite my kids' nagging. I fire up the word processing program now and then, stare at it a while, and then shut it down. But I do feel like things might be breaking loose again. Maybe I'll break out of my funk after the election. I did actually start another Max Mann novella. Too bad there are no markets for novellas. :-) jon

Guilt is good if it gets you to writing again. :)
