I'm an enormous fan of Michael Whelan's work, and have his books, which have some really incredible detail int he pictures of the fuzzies (although you have to go back to his first book, out of print, to get the best fuzzies pics). I've been giving it a shot for some time -- it's the hair that's the killer. Got a body that's rigged, but I haven't tried softriver's hair tute yet to see if it will help my hair suit making. For the best look, the Gobbles don't have the right build -- they aren't stocky enough. I've done seven iterations of the main body, mostly based off the sketches, but I sorta suck at eyes, so I'm having to practice with them more. The three fingered hand was a blessing. btw -- I've never actually read the books. They are one of the few glaring absences in my library.
