Heh. When I saw the thread title, I thought "Couldn't be H. Beam Piper, could it?" Glad to see it was! Fuzzies can't be driven insane, but I have a feeling anyone trying to rig all that hair would be! (For some reason we had Fuzzies as a character option in our old D&D games. I guess we all liked the books. This lead to some great moments, such as when a nasty interrogater leaned over to my (human) character and hissed "So, where is your fuzzy little friend?" We were also electronics buffs, and we figured an EEPROM (electrically-erasable programable read-only memory) was the sound made by a Fuzzie with a mace...."EEeeeee...PROM!")
