You have the wrong definition of "Protection" of the Recycle Bin. Norton is just making it easier for you to reclaim the stuff if you discover you've made a mistake. Norton/Symantec stuff isn't invasive, and doesn't screw up your computer. On the other hand, I've saved many people's screwed up computers with Norton's stuff!
