Subject: Daz Tactical Error?!

Berserga ( ) posted Mon, 11 October 2004 at 11:37 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 6:41 AM

In my Platinum club newsletter I just recieved a very generous coupon offering me 10 items, no strings attached from the recently announced P-club bonus pack. Only problem is... The 4 items in the bonus pack that I wanted were the only things tempting me to re-up with the P-club. I've been burned a few times this year by our old friends at Daz (Wedge 2.0 anyone?)and frankly I question the value of re-upping... yet I definately do feel a sense of loyalty. (They have been quite generous at times.) While disgusted with the quality of hair coming from Daz, and often diassapointed by clothes, I have found a lot of the sets and vehicles to be very nice. (ESPECIALLY the stuff by Moe, Stonemason, Davo(rama:p) and Kurokuma) If Daz features more of these strengths, or FIXES some of their weak points before my Subscription runs out sometime early next year I will have no problem giving my (precious) finances to them again. :D

Huh? You get the first 10 items in the bonus without having to renew your annual subscription. So what's your point? Just grab them. I did. And if you don't like the hair at DAZ, buy hair somewhere else.... :] Fish

I'm already a PC memeber. The way I understood it was, PC memeber get 10 free items from the PC bonus section and you get another 10 items if you re-up now.

All I know is that Daz just gave me about $146 worth of stuff for free with no strings attatched. No complaints from me on this one...

Yep, you don't need to re-sign up for anything to get 10 items for free. Every current paying PC-Member get's 10 items free. I've just got my 10 adding up to $212, very nice gift I would say. Don't see the tactical error at all. Perhaps a financial error (on DAZ's behalf)? Thanks DAZ, I do appreciatte the 10 free items for sure!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

It's more like $200 worth of stuff without the P-club discount. It's just insane how generous these guys are sometimes. BUT. I've found I havn't been using too much Daz stuff lately. which is why I am STILL debating about reupping to the P-club. Then again I am scared that the second I let my subscription lapse they will come out with something awesome and I'll wish I had my discount back. :D on the quality front there is more than just the hair that concerns me. There was the whole debacle with the military BDU set (Desert Warrior?) There's an item I really could have used if DW had spent some time making it more realistic. Sigh... I dunno... The thing that got me to re-up last year was the big old bonus pack... That's why I question how wise it is to Just Give us P-clubbers 10 items from the new one. But I am CERTAINLY not complaining. :D

I'm a DAZ member and didn't see that offer in the newsletter. I've of course gone and trashed it. How do you get the 10 free items?

onimusha ( ) posted Tue, 12 October 2004 at 9:36 AM

Never mind, I figured it out...

I still had a month to go on my subscription, but I got my 10 items. It was almost time to renew, but due to some finances, had to switch to monthly, so I didn't get my other 10 items. That's okay though. Didn't really see anything else I could have used (which I'll probably regret later on), but appreciate Daz and their generosity. Just wish I'd got Brom when he was still on sale. Forgot him in all the hurricane stuff...

crowbar ( ) posted Thu, 14 October 2004 at 5:09 AM

I d like to know if any platinum members bought any of the bonus items before they realised they could get 10 for free I know I was tempted by Kurokuma's Bradley and nearly bought it the day before I read the newsletter : )

SoulTaker ( ) posted Thu, 14 October 2004 at 2:42 PM

just what is it i am missing? i can only see 4 things out of the lot that are worth anything, please tellme?

Well, since they're free, just take those four things then randomly select 6 other things...
