Thank you for your reply, wyrwulf, but the CD that accompanied the issue of 3D World did not include manual in any format. I did purchase The Poser 3 Handbook by Shamms Mortier but I dind the book assumes a working knowledge of Poser. That working knowledge is what I am after.
