Jaager had some good tips at PoserPros for the organisation of Poser 5. He suggested strongly that the main P5 Runtime be kept lean-- I'd noticed that early on, I think it does play a part at least in loading the program. He also suggested that all the Geometries be kept in the main runtime and all the textures be consolidated in one folder outside of a runtime. I think he's very right about the geoms because Poser looks for them first in P5. However, the amount of Correct Reference that would have to be done on my gigs of Poser material have kept me from consolidating the texture files. I don't know if I'd live that long.LOL! Removing Content Paradise is also recommended for quick operation. These tips and more are included in a "sticky" at poserpros.com in the Poser 5 forum-- easy to find. And a very good place to go for P5 help. I run all my runtimes except P5 from a Firewire drive. All !DAZ folders are in the main runtime-- I'm not sure it is possible with my big overhead to use them anywhere else. I have to use a laptop-- disability probs-- and no laptop is big enough to hold all my runtimes a Paint prog and have scratch space enough to operate Poser. I cheated when I transferred from desktop to laptop and simply copied runtimes. Cross your fingers, so far it has worked very well. Sometimes I have crashes involving the Material room but that was after several hours of posing and the program gets "tired". I have V3 Runtime, "Guy"s runtime-- for unimesh M, D and Hulk; SP3 runtime and theme runtimes-- Pinup/Playgirls; Halloween/Goth; Aldara Project for Rdna; New Avengers Project which I haven't got started yet. Haven't built my Sci-fi Runtime yet. Oh, and one runtime just for props, sets and lights. Good luck finding your style Emily
