That is strange. I've had Norton all these years, and have uninstalled Norton without any trouble. In fact, I recently uninstalled Norton Antivirus to try my ISP's firewall and antivirus programs. Everything uninstalled just fine, and my computer works just fine. On the other hand, I've helped people uninstall McAfee, only to see McAfee hanging on like some evil force. Then I've had to talk them through how to exterminate any remains of McAfee.
