Well, if this is an animation, then have you tried rendering it out as still image sequences? This way, when it dies on frame 150 from lack of memory, you can just close the app, open it again, and start rendering the animation at the frame it died on (150). That should do the trick. In other words, don't render it as a movie file, but as still image sequences. I'm sure Poser 4 has that option.
