Your cable modem is very slow if it only does 500kbs ... that's roughly only 62K/sec. Much better than dial-up of course, which is a whopping 4 to 5k per second. But the specification for cable modems is 1500 to 3000 kbs, which translates to 180-375K per second! I have actually hit speeds of 400+ K per second!! That's a megabyte every 2.5 seconds! But it has to be a decent website or ftp site with relatively low usage at the time. Anyway, there you go. -Tim
