Poser hair is either a prop consisting of multiple hairs (hence transparencies) or can be created in the hair room of Poser 5. Both types can look real or fake depending upon the level of detail placed in them. Could you show us a screen shot of what character you are working with and what results you are wanting. In my opinion, some of the dynamic hair looks fake because the hairline is too high. If this is the case, you can make adjustments.
