I've said it before (indeed, in the post that he went off on), but I'll say it again. I like him, too.

Veritas does need to post here. The thing that set him off is that I've gotten mighty annoyed that his current kick with Vue (which is a respectable app) has led him to post to threads not with helpful tips or answers to particular questions, but with what are essentially advertisements to use Vue instead of Poser.

Which is fine -- in the Vue Forum. Being passionate about Poser (and not just 5), I do not take well to indefensible expressions of it's inadequecies, and most especially when they are erroneous.

I've stood up for him before, and I'll do it again. This isn't a "personal" thing -- I'm not angry about anything or upset, on my part. Were I to run amok in the other forums (which, granted, are typically more serious than ours) posting how you can do all that stuff better in Poser, not only had I best be able to back my statments up, I had better have pretty thick skin.

There is a good thread about using Poser and Vue together -- a request for help, notably -- that is fine. His posts don't meet that essential criteria.

Nor am I picking on him. Anyone who's observed my posting nature will note that I will post on pretty much anything that catches my fancy, and that I am strongly opinionated (which is a nicer term than what else it's been called elsewhere).

My opinion in this case is based on the oft stated current purpose of this forum in specific. If that changes, odds are pretty damned good that mine will change too.

I don't mind off topic posts, either -- even the ones that don't have OT on them (as they should).

Essentially, it comes down to specifically the manner in which his posts are inappropriately expressd in terms of their relevance to the topic at hand and the purpose of the forum.

and my hat is not tin. It's felt. Nice dark shade of green, too... (edited after reading ARADtech's post) Ahem. raised eyebrow But nice pic. how the pic is made is irrelevant. Thinking outside the box is one thing. Scribbling all over the walls of it is another.

thou and I, my friend, can, in the most flunkey world, make, each of us, one non-flunkey, one hero, if we like: that will be two heroes to begin with. (Carlyle)
