Subject: Install Problem....

Hi I have finally got around to reformatting the HD and installing P5 on my machine. There is no trace of 4 as it is a new format with 8 various other programs now installed no problem. The Poser Installer Vice went about halfway through its process and then the computer crashed and rebooted. So I used my GoBack to get back to a clean place ,then rebooted again for good measure. Next Poser install and everything seemed to go OK, except that it will not accept the serial number on the little CD envelope. I presume Ive input it Exactly as on the sticker except that I cant type in the underline symbol that appears actually OVER the space in the numbers. Ive tried several ways to input the serial number. Antivirus is OFF. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Many thanks. watersage

Finally called Curious and they told me that everywhere there was a little "dash" OVER a space - I was to use a ZERO instead......and I thought my typing was bad! Now works just fine.

You were LUCKY! After I received Poser5 I must have inserted every id CODE on every sheet, box, booklet and card that I could find in the package into the serial number field... No success. After a few HOURS, sweating and cursing, from sheer frustration I THREW the whole lot back into the box and was about to uninstall everything... When... What do I see, by pure chance, on the back of the CD envelope? A sticker! Is there really no way for these people to state WHERE one finds the serial code of the product!? sigh Like you, I'm less vexed NOW... but you should have seen me during the time every code failed! phew Yours, Thor

Yeah, the tech support guy at Curious told me that some of the little serial number stickers on the back of that application CD envelope had misprinted. Wherever there was supposed to be a zero, there was a long thin dash just above the line of characters. If this happens to anyone else, just try putting in a zero each place there is that dash. They apologised for the confusion. Every error so far after that one has been all mine!
