It is a good idea. Many times I have my product credits listed in a text format and then put them into the credits boxes as needed. For items that are PP or Daz exclusive but merchants are also here, I put the Site name after the product name in parenthesis. For example, Daio is a merchant here and at PP. I love to use her drow stuff which is exclusive at PP, so I will use the drop down here and note the site in teh product Entry "Drow Warrior for M2(PoserPros)" Another feature would be to allow for the adding of a second merchant name on one item. I.E. Danie & Marfarno's items.
