webvogel, I understand that you were just trying to be helpful. These copyright rules protect all of us but are sometimes difficult to determine where they apply. The idea that only commercial items are protected is a basic myth... one that I keep trying to clear up. Anything that we create, whether it is a song, a piece of jewelry, a painting, a 3d mesh, or a computer program... whatever, is protected at the moment it is "fixed". It can't be just an idea in our heads. It has to be expressed in some fixed form. Whether we sell it or give it away is totally immaterial. Carolly
