Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
especially since egypt hair only says it fits V3 (and a EJ fit link is on the page). is that really egypt hair? does it fit other characters or do you have some sort of conversion going?

I dont have Egypt Hair but I know that all hr2 files with a lot of morph targets can be used in any poser figure. Egypt Hair is a hr2 file and includes 276 morphs. Its a super versatil hair. PeterIn answer:
Yes, that is the Egypt Hair.
No, no special conversion.
...that, by the way, is a question I never quite understand. Hair is a smart prop. You never hear anyone asking, "Where do I get the conversion so Mike can hold that sword in his hand, instead of Vickie's in hers?"
load the hair/prop. Adjust the trans x,y,z to center on the character's head/hand/whatever. In the case of hair, Mike usually needs a little increase on the Scale dial, 102 to 104% max...and, voila, M3 conversion. (we'll assume you started with the character in zeroed position.)
re-parent to head and lock actor, if you're going to be moving the main figure around a lot.

maybe they need to revise the ad.
I scan over this thing and saw that it said "Hair object for DAZ Victoria 3.0" (emphasis copied from ad) and stopped their, because I dont have V3.
If Egypt hair has fits or morphs to fit others it would be advantageous to list as many as possible.

Hair is like conforming clothing, there is an expectation that it will fit in a specified character within a certain tolerance. I have tried adjusting trans and scales to fit hair to other characters, I have never been satisfied with the results.
With my limited time and slow computer, I choose to spend my money on things that I dont have to adjust or magnet to make fit.

For me, hair is like a prop. In fact, it's easier to fit hair to alternate characters than it is to get a sword properly positioned in a figure's hand. It would never occur to me to ask which hair a character is meant for. I never use magnets, just scaling.
The only time I've had trouble fitting hair to characters is when it has a lot of morphs, and you want a windblown style. Sometimes you get bald spots in front when using that sort of hair, unless the fit is perfect.
And yes, this hair looks utterly amazing!
There are cr2 hair and hr2 hair
cr2 hair - is like clothes. They only can be used in one figure (eg. SP3). Most of this hair styles are long hair styles (Aeris Hair by Danae, Glorious Hair by 3Dream, etc...)
hr2 hair - is like a smart prop that can be applyed in any figure by changing the x,y,ztran and working with the morphs. If a hr2 hair includes a lot of morphs, then it will be easier to fit in any figure.
Egypt Hair is a hr2 hair (can be applyed in any figure)
HEY! The male and Aiko hair styles for Egypt Hair are GREAT!!!

I understand the diffrence. I view hair (even hr2 files) as clothing that should fit. I choose to spend my money on hair that I do not have to spend my time "changing the x,y,z tran and working with the morphs."

Given the nearly 300 morphs, I suspect you can make it stand on its head and whistle Dixie. Seriously, though--this is a "hairpiece" made with infinite skill and meticulous detail which does not fail at even the most extreme distortions or odd camera angles. As for the flipping--it is the easiest thing in the world to do. I won't repost here, but the link refers to the method.thank you for the link and the information. it will come in handy, i'm sure. i was thinking more generally, though. all the pictures show morphed hair that all has the same exact front. there could easily be 300 length, movement and shaping morphs all for the hair that hangs. that would still make it great and very versatile. i'd just be interested in seeing different hairlines.
