Dunno if it's "really nice" or "realistic", but the scalp section is perhaps a little more detailed than you can see thus far. So, at the risk of being flogged for getting commercial, here's a closer view. I'm rather pleased with the outer 'fluff' section (one of several innovations you'll find in the model). And yes, it does fit M3 (I've got it to fit 15 base characters so far .. I think that's probably sufficient). You can pose the 'stump' of the tail how you like, though moving the point where it joins the scalp proved to be too much. The hair on the scalp all sweeps round to that one point. Moving it would require a huge morph so that the scalp texture didn't distort. I abandoned that idea early on. There are millions of props already that you can add to hair models to add a bit of originality. I don't intend spending time on well-trodden paths. I get my kick out of doing stuff that's new. Next project is a complete hair model (not just tail but whole-head) using this same technique. Well, a similar method, anyway. I started the ponytail model originally to see if the basic principle was sound .. it just kinda took on a life of its own. Cheers all. Like any 'artist' (I use the term loosely when referring to myself!) working away on my own, you get the occasional fit of 'The Doubts'. Thanks for giving me some perspective back. You're all stars.
