Why is it easier to add dynamics to a patch-based model? A polygon can have 4 sides too, and many polygon-based apps have soft-body dynamics.
The problem is, clothifying an object in Poser results in a totally different overall dynamic solution from what soft-body dyanmics would be. The clothification of a particular group of polygons on the model is causing that entire group to behave like cloth, which is not how a soft body object would behave.
