Seems to me I remember there was such a thing awhile back for Photoshop or PSP. For all I know it could be included in PSP9 I've barely scratched the surface of that program. I'm such a diehard PS user. Does it sound familiar to anyone or am I remembering a dream? It's happened before. LOL! Emily

Yep, looks pretty good. But, take it from me, the preset labels don't resemble any camouflage I've worn. It might be a suitable pattern for a vehicle, but there's only a vague resemblance to any clothing camouglage patterns I've seen. And a practical note -- you get discontinuities in the pattern where two pieces of fabric are sown together. Getting camouflage textures looking right is difficult.

The upgrade is supposed to make the patterns more seamless-- we'll see. I don't get my replacement PhotoShop discs till Monday anyway-- they had a block on the order for some stupid reason. Since I'm doing this for pre-school commandos-- yeah, it's a parody-- not resembling any normal camoflage might be a plus. I wonder what Strawberry Field's camo might look like anyway. No, I meant the pattern on real clothing. And it will do a decent not-quite-real pattern. But the shape of the colour blotches is a lot of what distinguishes one real pattern from another. RealCandy cammo? The Nightvision plugin looks pretty good. Looks useful for faking old TV too.

I'm gonna use these in P5 where the tiling is more or less automatic, like I say we'll see. Something close may be good enough. Just enough to give the indication of Cammo. It's not doing my patience much good to have to wait. I thought the Nightvision might work for a wonky computerised surveillance camera as well. Using Davo's reconnaisance vehicle with his free SF monitors set up interior. Names all wrong I'm sure, going by a desperately poor memory. Yes, that's right. Any patterned fabric will have discontinuities in the pattern where different pieces are sewn together to make the garment. There's a lot of Poser clothing textures which don't do that, and it might not be obvious on a cammo pattern. Oh, and there's a real cammo fabric for hunters called "Realtree" (trademarked and all that). It looks like real trees, almost photographic.

This is the back of a British Army cammo jacket, showing the basics of the pattern. You can also see the rip-stop reinforcing threads. There's a seam across the picture.

It should give you a good idea of the correct colours to use in that plugin, but you can see what I mean about the shape of the pattern.

The pattern is printed from light to dark, starting with the pale colour of the fabric, then green, brown, and a relatively small amount of black. That's a side effect of the production tech. Light over dark doesn't work. It's worth remembering if you want to do a special pattern.

It should work fine, if it's no worse than that. And thanx tons for giving me tips on how to load up camo colors. I would not have thought ahead that way. I'll post what I can come up with once my disks arrive and I get the unlock code. I'm in severe PhotoShop withdrawal.:(( Emily.
