Butch, maybe someone you know has a disk cleaning setup, or you might be able to find one cheap. I know that there are machines that are supposed to polish the scratches out, so the disks work again. I have also seen ads somewhere for companies that do that, too. It might be more than you want to spend of fiddle with, if you have a new disk on the way.
