After much convincing my local camera shop agreed to let me trial the Canon 100m macro f2.8 USM as long as I agreed to pay for the lens if I damaged it. This is one fantastic lens and so sharp you could cut yourself on the images, it should have a L on it. I am going to buy this lens; this is going to be loads of fun. Now where are all those damn spiders? Ok this was done in far from perfect conditions, it is winter and everything is dark so I had to improvise. These rose are made from wood and are made by a guy that I met some time ago his company make lots of this sort of thing they are lovely, but thats another story entirely. Sweet photo. My, this is sharp and colorfully vibarant man...awesome looking...One thing I wanna do sometime is Macro.....I'ts been a dream for a bit now, and if I ever save appropriate fundage for more- appropriate equipment my heart desires, I hope to make it happen...hopefully sooner than later! I think I'd like 2 upgrqade to one of those medium/hight range digi cameras that one can attach assesorie lenses to. Not DSL though cuz that's a bit outa my league. For now just more sophisticated point and shoot, with decent zoom, lens, and full manual control....plus maybe ability for external hot shoe. I would like that. Nothing personaly against my lovely digi I now have....It is like a good friend, and I hope it doesn't realize I'm even consiserding replacing it. I'll still keep it, and let them sleep toghether. As a matter of fact, I love my camera, it's served me well these past few yrs, and takes some great photos. Amazing how well it works considering what it is...which is cool. Not about your lens, let me say that I nothing really about lenses, but it looks to me like you made a wise choive with this lens, most know Canon cameras and Canon-lenses are world class, and this photo proves it. Merry holiday, and enjoy your new lens! -Jeff (coolj001) :-)

I also think that the Canon-lenses are world class but they also have their price. Especially lenses with USM technology are very expensive. But that is the price, if you want to get excellent quality. You made an excellent choice with this lens. I think you will have fun with it for a long time. Christian (X-PaX)

This one is on my wishlist as well! Also, wishing for a 85mm f1.8 - this is another non "L" lens that should have a "L" on it! Very sharp! TMG
