When I was a kid I think the "rumour" one heard in the school yard was that someone got a piece of dry toast in their stocking when they were bad...maybe Santa finally realised giving a lump of charcoal (ie: a handy drawing implement) to a "bad kid" was REALLY dumb idea, heh heh Nowadays the 'punishment' gift is a pair of socks isn't it?
