Max's daylight system lets you pick any location on a global "map", time of day, etc. to set up a daylight simulation. Of course you can't duplicate the exact intensity of the sun on a monitor, but I dont think that's what he was asking. You can, however, duplicate the lighting of artificial bulbs and such in world space using photometric lights.
