Also another quick way to parent is to just open the hierarchy window and drag all your figures onto the square prop. Any props parented to the figures will not need to be reparented to the square as mentioned above. I usually do this even in Poser to be able to manipulate a scene after I've applied the lighting and don't want to ruin the angle or if I want to z-toon the entire scene.
