Subject: I'm considering a 24" Sony Monitor CRT. Any advice, warnings, etc?

I'd be wary of refurbs if I were you. I've known many people, including myself, that have had refurbs die within 18 months of owning it. Unless it's been factory refurbed I'd stay away. I own a new 22" Trinitron monitor too, ViewSonic P220f, and it's been great. I recommend Sony tubes to anyone, just make sure you get it new or refurbed from the factory only. As for CRTs dying out I'd rather die with them. LCD cannot handle high refesh rates like CRTs can and thus in games and video you get pixel blur. This is the crystals result of trying to refresh as fast as the screen moves, ie mostly games. Maybe in a few years the technology will be better but for now I'm happy to accept radiation and excess photons regardless of LCDs reduced eyestrain. :)
