The actual render does not use OpenGL, so that doesn't make any difference. OpenGL is very useful when setting up the scene, the orthogonal views are displayed with more detail and at higher speed with OpenGL enabled - if it doesn't crash, that is. My new GeForce 6800LE works a lot better than the Radeon9600 Pro, OpenGL is stable and very fast.
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
