CorrectReference, both versions, allow changing the file references within the application. It is easier in the free version as one can change several unfound reference files a batch at a time. They both allow the option to nullify any text reference that is too hard to find or is not worth the effort. CorrectReferenc Pro allows you to check out geometry reference. In some cases the obj file got lost on transfer to a new computer. If I couldn't find the Obj outside the Runtime being checked, i got rid of the library item requiring the obj. Some new P5 CR2's create the obj file in the library itself and not in the geometries file but those can be replaced within Correct Pro. I run CorrectReference on all new downloads. I also ran CorrectReference in all files previously on Poser4.
