specialized gear... For prospectors: pick, shovel, spoons, canteen, lantern, pie-pan-shaped thing for sloshing the iron filings away from the gold dust. For surveyers & explorers: tripod folded up (it can support instruments or cameras, doesn't have to actually unfold... just look like a collapsed tripod), boxes with labels, tubular map case. Adventurers: coiled rope, small boxes, small pots with potions or lamp oil. If you have a lidded basket, a few boxes (metal, wood), a rolled bedroll, and a water bottle or canteen, you've covered the basics for a long swath of time. Almost anything that you do will be highly useful to a lot of us. :) Carolly
