...or have the prices of graphics software in general doubled in the past year or two?? Photoshop now runs in the 800s (I think), Painter 6 is $ 399. Well, the previous versions of these were not nearly this expensive.

You better shop around.

If you are looking for quality, shopping around isn't such a good idea.

I am ecstatic with the cost of the Photoshop upgrades, as well as the package itself. It truly is the best in the field right now. Couple it with some amazing plugs, like KPT 6 and Eyecandy 4000, and it blows everything else away. Voodoo ps. I should own some Adobe stock, lol. Did it sound like a commercial? pps. I am a member of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals. www.photoshopuser.com (wink)

I am waiting on the upgrades myself. Read an article about how the latest Illustrator won't open anything below PS6 now. It seems as if Adobe has been coming kind of slow on fixes right now. Even to the point of not having options that are in the manual. Example: I purchased LiveMotion and you are supposed to be able to change the origin point of the rulers like most Adobe products. However when I got on the support forums the Adobe rep. constantly denied it and said it was a mis-print. It was'nt fixed in the update, but I think it might be included in a costly upgrade. I understand that Adobe needs to make a buck like anyone else, but why this way?
