I'm really convinced that you see the majority of supporting items for new characters when they first come out. If you don't see more items within a few weeks, you won't see them. That's because any store makes most of its money on new characters during their introduction. Once the next "big thing" comes by, it takes over the attention. Then it's replaced by the next "big thing."
