Wow, tips from Woodhurst!!! 
When I get tips from the LOTR master, then I have to listen. All good ideas. I am trying to think of a better setting for the sword. I'm thinking maybe on the anvil just after it was reforged. Or got to town and use intersect to shatter it. The more I look at it, the more I realise that it's really not a great model. I may redo it but this was a good trial.
