Subject: Inexpesive modeling software for use with Poser 4

Any recommendations on inexpensive Modeling software that can be used to create/alter posable models (Like clothing)? I'm not yet at the level where I want to start anything like that, but I am interested customizing figures myself. However this is a hobby, $600+ for a modeling program is quite steep. $200 or so is more my range. Thanks in advance.

try anim8or at www.anim8or.com its free and works quite well at creating morphs for poser figures/clothes, there is a tutorial here http://interneteye3d.com/Tutorials/2000/sept/posermorph/default.asp Steve

Ohh...Steve, this little program is perfect. Very easy to use, and does a ton of things. I downloaded it and have been playing with it for an hour. It's very user friendly, and simple, with a good PDF Help File. If you want to create objects, morphs, or edit a mesh, this thing works excellent with a little practice and reading, and will do just about anything you want it to in basic model creation. It imports Obj, 3DS, and...ummm...one other, I forget. But thank you for pointing to it. I think it will be very handy and useful, especially for a novice just trying out modeling. =)

heyas; anim8or is freeware, so is blender. strata went to freeware, i believe was the one. there are many shareware modellers as well. 3dlinks has a whole list (www.3dlinks.com). they also have the commercial modellers on another list, if you really want to spend a few hundred. ;)

Of all the mentioned freeware, the only one I have found a way to work with Poser is anim8or. (Thanks to the morph target tutorial by Steve Shanks. Is there a way to import/export Wavefront objects with Stratus? Or am I missing an export format with poser?
