Read the darn newsletter and said, huhshrug. Started typing all this and realized I can jam V3 morphs onto M3. Gotta go.

No one is allowed to complain about how its just the base characters and now you have to spend more money to make them work.

*responding forward.*Pauljs, Doubt it's due to anything other than their success with the Aiko freebie promotion, and the fact that they have enough revenue in off of addons and such that they can drop a significant barrier to entry level artist, i.e. price.

Interesting... Is this in response to the MakeHuman project out there and other free people models such as MayaDoll?

Hey Paul, MakeHuman is one of the most interesting developements in Blender in my opinion, and it been arround for some time (rather one-man slow developement thingie), just like MayaDoll, and I simply doubt that V3 and M3 are 4 free becouse of that, it is some kind of bussinesas move from DAZ, I bet they have a lot of ppl who buy base characters but not morphs, when you buy morph packs it is more likely that you gonna spend more money on their stuff, expecially Tailor (<--is this how you spell it?), etc.

Well, if we're looking for conspiracy theories....lets try.... how about... DAZ now (or soon will..maybe) have Daz Studio working and for free (I think), or at least quite cheap compared to other similar program(s), and they now have free good quality content that is very widely supported and is very popular.... Add on bryce that is having Daz Studio support built in and... Could be interesting to see where this goes in the long run. Regardless of what their plans are - its still pretty good - now I have V3 and M3 that can sit unused on my HDD along with all the other unused figures and free stuff I have lol.

oh, yes, finally I can get them :) the only problem can be that EVERYONE appears to run and download them, so the process becomes a bit umm ... weird :) i.e. I cannot access my account page on DAZ anymore O_o ok ok let's wait till the tide is down, Mike and Vicky are not gonna run away from me hehe :)

Wow Thanks! I tried Quest's link but they seem to be moved (or my preferences are different). Changed to sort by cheapest, newest, etc. and still didn't see them. I went through the product menu and pulled down on Michael 3 and Victoria 3 and there they were. Just when I thought Christmas was over:)

A nice gift for my birthday (which is tomorrow :-)). But they still insist on that stupid silly thing - asking for a credit card for free things.

Hey Erlik, I just click on Pay Pal (which I don't have either) It lets me through without asking for the account. I don't know if typing in 1234 5678 9012 3456 or 0000 0000 0000 0000 will work cause I haven't tried it.

Ahhhhyes, Electroglyph, the URL seems to have been redirected. I tried this twice yesterday before and after posting this thread and it worked then. Now it redirects to V3 and M3 morph items. Guess they want to make sure you stop to buy their products for the freebies first before giving you the actual freebie.

Does this version of M3 facial animations dials?, V3 can open the mouth.... but M3 doesn't....

I saw some mouth files fly by as it was installing..Aiko 3 is still available as well, and Creepy, now you can go through DAZ's freestuff archive, and laugh at all those 'requires purchase of V3 base model..;)' my hard drive is a bit heftier in the last half-hour..;)

If M3 is anything like Freak, there are some Pose Injection thingies in Poses. You have to apply them to Michael for his mouth to open and so on.

The texture templates are different - they're what you'd use as templates when you make your own textures...

so now I got v3/m3 do they work in poser 3? - I never upgraded - guess I may have to learn to use Daz studio :(

I'm not sure, I started with Poser 4.

I dunno..but I think it would bring Poser 3 to it's knees..there'd be a lot of features it couldn't use (looks like V3 was designed as much for P5 as P4..)
