Subject: Help! how to change DSC prefix on new cam so don't overwrite images

Rename Master... Hmmm, sounds like something I would do by hand. If it's free, well, why not?

  1. My method is complicated
  2. Open dos-box (cmd.exe)
  3. Go to directory with pictures
  4. Type dir *.jpg /on >renjpg.bat
  5. Start Excel and open renjpg.bat (all files)
  6. column 1 names, typing in column 2 names that shoud be the name, e.g. Pict0731.jpg
  7. etc. etc. etc.

I shall stop here, blah blah blah, it's just a way to rename a series of files that is easily numbered and I think Rename Master will do that better!
