I got P5 yesterday and figured out how to add my P4 runtime to P5, but now I have a problem - some (it appears to be a random thing) of the thumbnails have disappeared. The poses still work fine, but I don't want to have to go through every single pose to decide if it's the one I want to use. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so, what they did to correct it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

If a directory has more than 100 items (200 files) the thumbnails go away.

You'll need to start sorting them into subdirectories.
Sometimes you need less than 100 - like 96 to 98 or so...

Is this a P5 specific issue?

Found it!

Open Poser 5/Runtime/Prefs/LibraryPrefs.xml file in Notepad and to change the PreviewNum from "100" to a larger number.

I changed mine to 250 and everything works fine.

-LibraryPreferences curFolder="1" previewNum="250"-

Thank for the fix. I'll do that for now, but I think sorting them into subdirectories is something I will need to do , soon. For long term

Is this a P5 specific issue? It's not really an issue or a bug, so much as a design decision on the part of Poser's developers. But happily it's one we can easily change, unlike font size or type.

I changed mine to 250 as well, and it didn't fix it, but I appreciate the suggestion. It's late here and time for bed so I'll tackle this issue again tomorrow. Maybe after restarting the computer, it'll all be magically fixed! :)

If changing it to 250 doesn't work it's merely an indication that you have more than that. Change it to 500 then :o)

same thing is up with my library, only i didnt think it was something i could change. when i tried changing the # like you have listed above I couldnt change anything. wonder why that is. any suggestions? thanks Essie

SomethingWicked ( ) posted Fri, 07 January 2005 at 9:30 AM

Essie, when I tried to change it last night, I just opened the file and tried to change it and nothing happened. This morning when I searched for it again, I right-clicked on "edit" instead (as well as changed the number to 500), and it worked fine for me. I don't know if what made the difference was editing it instead of just opening it, but try it and see if that helps. Thanks to all those who've replied and helped me out!

You can't change it while Poser is running is what I would guess.

Right click on the file and open it with wordpad or some other text editter, it should save back to the proper format (mine has).
