The best best is to have more than one email address: 1.) Keep one just for friends, relatives, and people you can trust. 2.) Keep another for web communities you can trust, or maybe not trust as much as your friends and family. 3.) Keep another for online stores. I do that, and now I have no spam at my ISP's email account. All my spam comes from my yahoo email account and my web site "domain" email address.
