The key to Vicky and Mike is "small" increments when morphing or rescaling. You can't hit t with a massive change in size. I have wrangled with Vicky for months, totally frustrated, and wondering if I'd wasted my money too. But it's tiny editing that brings about acceptable edits in their configuration.
