Subject: A lousy start on a new year.

Rudy,.......have you checked with your vet about using a drug called Toprol XL, now in limited vetrinary testing ? It's original use was for humans but there has been some evidence of effecacy in animals(dogs and horses, don't know about cats). It lowers the heart rate and in some cases BP also. As a matter of fact, I was put on this drug after my heart problems(I had a resting heart rate of 130bpm and BP of 150/95). In my case it has been quite successful, my HR is around 78 and BP is 110/80. Of course one drawback is the cost, it tends to be expensive. Anyhow,.......just a thought. Don't remember where I read about this,........might have been the Virginia Equine Center,.....not sure,.......lemme' see if I can find the resource for you and your vet.
