Dalwhinnie seems familiar but I haven't ever tried it. Glenfiddich isn't the best single malt but it was the first. If you want to try something a bit different, try Laphroaig. You'll think it tastes like fence paint at first - everyone does - but it will grow on you. Single malts are a relatively new invention; traditionally, Scotch has been blended, and for the best ones, the blending was (and still is) a real art. Try Chivas Regal, for example. It's light, sweet and aromatic.
