The volumetric light is superbly done, and the image has great potential. A few suggestions: The shadow pattern from the window bars indicates the light source is just outside; this isn't realistic for an 'infinitely distant' source like the sun. This could be easily corrected in a new render, but a downside to that would be a smaller, less impressive area of illumination in the image (both in the 'air' and on the ground). This throws up a compositional opportunity. Leave the light source where it is and have it not be the sun. Rather than Ben sitting there passively, have him reaching toward the strange light in wonder and hope. This would contrast nicely with the desolation of his surroundings, giving a religious type impression. With that in mind, reassemble the human bones into a skeleton and place that 'in the shadows' (replacing the scatter with general detritus). This would make the bones/skeleton a more obvious statement of a likely doom/destiny for Ben, as well as making it look less like Ben has been feeding on the remains of a cellmate. Enable soft-shadows. The hard-edged ones clash with the lovely soft light in the image, and scream '3D'. Maybe make the bars on the window thinner. The post-worked hair isn't too bad (a bit too contrasty for that part of the image, and a bit too groomed) but the biggest problem is that it doesn't cast a shadow. Ben's back and shoulders are lit as if his head were bald (as in the straight render). If you go for a 'ready' 3D hair rather than making one (or better integration of post), I recommend "Grace Lion Hair" by Quarker in the store here. It's very adaptable, and can be made to look bedraggled and unkempt. It'll be a purchase ($8.95) so you'll feel quite justified in using it in your image(s). It's fairly straightforward to fit to alternative figures, and the process will give you that feeling of involvement you desire ;-). I agree with the others about the back posture error. The butt area of Poser figures is quite tough to get right. It often remains persistently J-Lo when it's bent, and it's a challenge. You like a challenge... ;-)
