For the interface i know that can't looks great for everybody. For people would looks old or retro, to wild, etc, If i do it like psd on mac, white and translucid it looks maybe to clean. I think you have the ground color BAsis, and after you colorise the own interface. for exemple you define: basic color white, tool blue, fonts, grey. So with 5 colors you get your personal interface.
