Use the expression dials? Not being flippant here. Take a look at pictures of people in carious emotional states. The areas around the eyes and nose are sadly underused in Poser emotions but they can convey a wealth of realism. Flaring the nostrils, playing with the eyes baggy or eyes puffy morphs, cheeks and cheekbones, brows and eyelids can work wonders. Don't neglect the wince morphs, too. Play around with eye positions, dilate the pupils, alter the material settings to put some sparkle in them. Aim for a certain amount of asymmetry, don't overdo the morphs, pay attention to the body and head positions, too. Everything adds up.
