Another way round the slow startup is to set up an empty runtime & park poser in that when you shut it down, then next time you fire it up it'll be much faster starting. I guess I should say I'm using Windows with a Pentium 4 2.0Ghz with 1Gb of Ram, I have loads running in the background right now when I did a quick test. 632Mb Runtime (smallish) startup 16 seconds 0Mb Runtime startup 14 seconds how big is your runtime & what else are you running at the time? it should be loading up much faster than you reported.
